Comfy an all !!! No problems with my 5 year old secondhand bike, yet. The Fazers power and road handling. TOP BUILD QUALITY.  Weaknesses:  WHY NOT PUT GLOVE BOXES IN THE SIDE FAIRINGS, THERE IS PLENTY OF SPACE. It's easy to service [even the valve clearances are pretty straightforward] and has never, ever missed a beat. This broug… I live in Iceland so that might not be an issue in warmer climates. The Yamaha FZS1000 Fazer’s still a great buy and it’s got a big following so shouldn’t depreciate too much. Even modest lean angles will have them touching down. The front fairing seems to be separating from the inner plastic at one point, but a trip to the dealers should sort it out, I hope. I borrowed an '07 naked FZ1 for a day last week and had a real ball of a time. Try it on a motorway and you'll see what I mean. Makes mid-range a little flat (but could be California jetting). The FZ1 1000cc standards are something that triggers other bike makers to retrospect their standards with respect to the suspension or chassis or brakes and handling design. Needs more mid range torque. Loads of torque makes it bike for the wheelie fan. Buying experience: Private sale, 07 15k, abs £3300, was a good deal as everyone else wanted 3500. So many things that seem to have disappeared from bikes now days. Oil changes are a doddle, with the radiator off it's easy to check valve clearances. Simply fantastic, I've read all the negatives and to me they amount to naught. tried other new and used suzuki gsx .kawasaki z1000 none to me as good as the fazer. You can make it suit you perfectly. Overall verdict: a cracking bike. The jerky response is out of proportion to the throttle input. Fanatastic, just done the south of France 2 up. A few mods and they are competitive with some of the latest streetfighters, but at a bargain price. Buying experience: Was happy to pay the dealer price for a 11,000 mile bike with full service history. It goes round corners easier and seems much lighter as if you are riding a 600. Very nice, fast bike. This model boasts 143bhp, 78ft-lb of torque and a top speed of 160mph, while econ Yamaha claims that it has used its MotoGP technology engine in the FZ1 998cc bike. Rear Huggar, Scottoiler, Heated grips, I dont plan on becoming a statistic. I can't fault power, (loads) smooth, can't fault it. Yamaha FZS1000 FZS 1000 Fazer 2001 - 2005 Starter Motor . Buying experience: bought privately from evil bay, did have to replace a few parts on purchase but did get a cracking price. I suspect that the suspension on these machines may wear out earlier than on some other machines being budget items. The Yamaha FZS1000 Fazer give you plenty of metal for the money. Why can't they fit the R1 engine without tampering with anything? Bought mine new in 04 and now covered over 65,000 miles ...in all weathers. I personally thought the '07 with the black frame, engine and wheels looked great. driving these bikes is very cumbersome as, one its not your bike and your mind is preoccupied with this thought.the fear of a crash lingers on in your mind as you drive the bike.so you just cant enjoy the ride. Very light to move about too. I LOVE IT. I have ridden through snow and even floods over 1 mile distance and 2-3 ft deep where cars have been written off without so much as a cough from the r1 motor. However, lack of initial torque aside, I have never found myself wanting more on the acceleration front, while the noises and reactions of the engine are so excitable that occasionally I've briefly questioned the need for a lady in my life. Service History, 4 x Receipts/Workshop Job Sheets Main dealers. Modern Slavery Statement & Seems to be running forever. Love this bike. The raw power the bike gives around 3000 revs cannot be beaten, like the sound a rocket ship makes taking off (probably) leaving my head rattling in my helmet and my stomach somewhere a mile behind me. Got a 07 plate FZ1, had it for 2500 miles now (3 months) Awesome is the only word for it. If you're not completely abusive with the throttle, this bike is close to a perfect all-rounder. But I still enjoy the FZ-1 because such niggles give it character; a certain je ne c'est-quoi which is normally reserved for Aprilias and Dukes. Strengths: Looks, handling, colour (larva red), useability, engine is really responsive and grunty, brakes are fantastic, comfort, clocks, stock exhaust note, dealer service (K2, Stoke).  Weaknesses: Fueling is jerky but not as bad as the press make it out to be. i have driven the 08 zx 14 in states once and it was biking heaven for me. So bottom line, exciting and practical at the same time.
